I Form - Close Twins

This is my favourite formation so far because it enables you to read defenses rather easily. It has two WR's on the same side and it is a compressed formation.

Game Plan

Run up the gut until your opponent starts pinching his line. This will allow you to better run outside as well as rollout on passing plays.

Personnel

- You will want the slot receiver to be big and tall and someone who can block. In my case, I have my TE Vernon Davis there.

- At TE, you want to put priority on blocking. You don't wanna put a lineman there, but a blocking TE if your starter is weak at run blocking.

HB Counter Wk

Man:

- flip the run (not the play, just the direction of the run)
- slide protection right
- lead block with the TE and pancake the closest defender near him
- speed burst right away and run to the right and then turn the corner, hopefully your blockers have created a seal and you will be one on one with the safety

Zone:

- slide protection left
- motion the outside receiver to the right and snap the ball when he gets to the slot receiver, you want him to pick up the DE(4-3) or OLB (3-4)
- you want to read that block, that will determine if you go inside or outside or the OLB/DE

If they spread their line:

Formation audible DOWN into HB Iso and SP (slide protection) up (aggressive). Read the center's a$$. Yes, you heard me. If his a$$ points to the left (so his defender is to his right), you run left left of him. If it points to the right, you run right of him.

Also try this concept with HB Stretch

Mesh

Man:

- The double drags should open each other up
- Another thing you can is simply hot route your TE to an out route (you can also smart route if you think you will have the time) and he will be open

Zone:

- streak the outside receiver
- Optional: slide protect to the left and rollout
- against cover 2, you can lead pass the streak to the inside
- against zones without purple zone on the left, you can hit the corner pass leading down and to the sideline (you want it underneath the deep zone)
- against zone without the flat zones to the left, you can hit the HB or the TE doing the drag

Also try this concept with Bench (Formation Audible) by drag routing the TE's against zone.

PA Ctr Waggle

This play feeds off of HB Counter Wk because they look exactly the same. I've even fooled myself when I've gone back to look at my recorded games. Once you get them thinking run, you can start hitting them hard with this. This play requires no adjustment.

Man:

- the X receiver will be open as well as a A receiver on the delay

Zone:

- X will be open against most Cover 3 as will the A
- B will be open against most Cover 2 and A will be open against some

FB Dive Fake HB

The first thing I am going to say is leave your best back at HB. I have noticed that if you put your best HB at FB, the backers won't bite to the left as much. Try to put in a guy in there who's gonna fall forward, like the actual fullback or a bigger HB.

Man:

- SP Aggressive

Zone:

- motion outside receiver to the A gap for extra blocking

Also try this concept with HB Iso (Formation Audible)

This is something I didnt know, Its almost too funny...
But Centers in general usually give something up in the NFL, Like if they rock to thier back feet, Its a sign of a Pass Play ect...
Great Writeup...
